When we witness two people join their lives together in Wedding, our attention usually gravitate towards the beautiful elements scattered around the day. We marvel at the decorations, the life of the party and the little details that made us think “wow, they sure put in a lot of work in here” or even “wow, I can’t imagine what a bridezilla she must have been”. We would pay attention to how radiant the bride looked and how extensive the details on her gown was. But most of the time, we would miss the certain look of relief, the heaving of a sigh under breaths and the silent prayer of grand gratitude, on the couple after they have just given each other the promise of forever.
I’ve noticed that look. It is usually seen on couples who have withstood some kind of test to finally be standing where they were on that day. It is a look filled with elegance that radiated through their every being, knowing that it is by grace that they were standing there. It is a look filled with stories, strengthened by the experience that got them there. And it is beautiful. It is happiness in every sense of the word. It’s a look that is filled with inspiration to go after something you truly believe in, to notice the one thing that will make you happy and to have to courage to fight for it.
